About Me!

Hey, Hello, Hi!

I first began merging my love of storytelling and teaching through my English studies at the University of Oxford in England, where I studied Shakespeare and Modern Literature, an experience that deeply shaped how I see character, dialogue, and human motivation. Oxford gave me the foundation for literary analysis that would later evolve into visual storytelling on screen.

For fifteen years, I taught high school English, Film, and Media Studies, guiding students through the same kinds of stories that once inspired me. Teaching sharpened my ability to see meaning beneath the surface, a skill that now fuels how I write, direct, and design.

In 2018, I earned my first master’s degree, a Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University, combining creativity with psychology and design thinking. I completed my Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television Directing, also from DePaul, in 2023.

My debut film, A Mind of Its Own©, about a Black woman with a talking afro, premiered at Chicago's renowned Gene Siskel Film Center in 2023, and was most recently selected by Level Forward to screen on AMC+ streaming service.

When I’m not making films, I’m writing them, or writing about the systems that make them possible. My first book, Passing Notes™/©, a teaching memoir that uses pop culture as a conduit for workplace hierarchy and an ode to creative resistance, will release Spring 2026.

Beyond writing and filmmaking, I offer consulting and speaking for educators, creatives, and organizations seeking to reimagine how we learn, work, and tell stories.

I love graphic design, photography, fashion styling, and collecting enamel pins. I obviously enjoy watching, analyzing, and making movies. Follow me on Letterboxd! I’ve traveled to more than twenty countries, spend far too much time in museums, and listen to music like it’s oxygen.

My superpower? Creativity. --- This last part was cheesy, but I couldn't resist.
